who we are

We are Don Juan Avila Elementary School parents, families and educators advocating and working to drive improvements in the education, health, well-being, safety and development of all the children in our community. PTA is the nation’s largest volunteer-led association working toward these goals.

Part of our work includes outreach into the community to help fund many of the programs, projects and events that we plan throughout the year.  This is including but not limited to special assemblies, field trips, teacher appreciation, campus beautification, yearbook design and some of the items highlighted in the programs menu of our website.

We believe every adult has a responsibility to ensure that all children develop to their full potential. We believe parents are children’s first teachers and that parent involvement is essential throughout a child’s educational experience.  We believe our responsibility includes advocating for the safety and welfare of all children and the opportunity for a quality public education for each child.
